What is an Asset Inspection Response Set?

Inspection Response Sets are customisable options, which can be scored, that users can select from when completing an Asset Inspection.

Inspection Response Sets have replaced the asset inspection checklist responses. They can be used across multiple Asset Inspection Types and allow you to create a customised scoring matrix, including the ability to define defect responses.

They provide a structured way to set up response options, each with an associated score if desired. For example, during a vehicle check, a driver may be asked to assess the condition of the wheels using predefined responses such as N/A, Major Failure, Minor Failure, or No Issues. Each of these responses can be assigned an appropriate score, as shown in the example below.

How to Create and Manage Inspection Response Sets?

To create or manage your Inspection Responses, first navigate to the Settings section in the bottom-left corner of your portal. From there, scroll down to the Assets section and select ‘Inspection Response Sets'.

From here, you can edit existing Inspection Response Sets or create new ones. To create a new Inspection Response Set, select the ‘Add Inspection Response Set’ button at the top-left of the page.

This will then open a window for you to create and name your own Inspection Response Set and add responses you'd like to be used within that set by selecting the Add Response button. This window will then appear where you can add the response. Options you can configure include:

  • Response Text: The text your users will see when selecting an option.
  • Score Value: The points value given to your Asset when users select this option. The points value can be positive or negative.
  • Colour: A custom colour for this response.
  • Defect Response: Select if this checkbox if this option should be set as defect (indicating a negative or an issue response)

Once you've added the responses required, press 'Save Response Set'.

This will then appear on your list to use in your assets.
